David Moyes: Tactics, Everton's Evolution - Masterclass

David Moyes: Tactics, Everton's Evolution - Masterclass SUBSCRIBE to Coaches' Voice:

David Moyes joined Everton from Preston North End in March 2002, signing a four-year deal. He arrived at a club languishing one point above the relegation zone and with one win in their last 13 league games. Under his management, the Toffees went on to win four and draw one of their nine remaining league games, finishing the season 15th in the league and maintaining their top-flight status.

The following season, Moyes led the team to seventh – their highest finish in six seasons – and was named the LMA’s Manager of the Year for his achievement in turning around the club’s fortunes.

Acrosss 11 years in the job, Moyes took charge of Everton on more than 500 occasions, steering them as high as fourth in the league in 2005, leading them on four European campaigns, and taking them to an FA Cup final in 2009.

In this exclusive video from The Coaches’ Voice, Moyes talks us through the tactical evolution of his Everton side throughout his tenure, paying particular attention to a victory over Manchester United during his final season at Goodison Park – in which he identified and targeted a specific weakness within the United back line.
