Following US government's orders, Google has restricted its licensing to Huawei. This means that all current smartphones available in the market won't have anything to lose, accept Android software updated, which will be pushed solely by Huawei. Huawei can also use AOSP to bring you the Android experience but the updates may face a delay.
For the upcoming devices, Huawei's HongMeng OS will be set to takeover. The new OS can be a boon or a bane for Huawei - because people may adapt to it or they may not. However, it can work in favour for the company because now Huawei can optimise its smartphones even better since they're making the hardware and software themselves.
It is important to note here that such tactics may also cast doubt over other Chinese smartphone manufacturers and it all depends how Huawei sails through this.
