Admiral Essen is the second project of Project 11356 blue water and is the first ship to be built in series from this project. The ship was named after Russian Navy Admiral Imperial Nikolai Ottovich von Essen. It has been part of a permanent group of Russians in the Mediterranean since March 2019. This class of ships has a displacement of around 4,000 tons, a speed of 30 knots, and endurance of 30 days. Admiral Essen is armed with Kalibr cruise missiles, Shtil-1 missile self-defense systems, 100 mm A-190 artillery, air defense artillery, rocket launchers and RBU-6000 torpedoes and can carry Ka-27 deck helicopters (Ka -31).

The IDEF-2019 International Defense Industry Exhibition was held in Istanbul on April 30 - May 3. The main topics of the exhibition are equipment for land forces, navy, air force, defense technology, space technology, systems on board, and helicopters. , ships, electronics, security systems, transportation and logistics equipment and systems.
