At 12:30 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Firefighters were dispatched two a vegetation fire in the city of Antioch that was threatening multiple homes. Upon arrival, a second alarm was called by the battalion chief and a short time later, went 3-alarm.
The fire occurred in the 1300 block of Trembath off E 18th. Along with units responding to Lipton St.
In total, the fire burned 5-acres of vegetation while threatening a total of 10 homes. At least 1 home sustained damage while multiple others lost their fence and backyards due to flames.
According to the Battalion Chief and fire investigator, the fire was believed to have started from fireworks. East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was also dispatched to assist. The Antioch Police Department also responded and even helped pull hoses.
