Always Get Fresh Floors:

Different floors have different floor finishes, as the seasons slowly change from one to the other, a good way to cap it off is by cleaning your floors.

Laminate Floors:

Always remember the number 1 rule when it comes to mopping, don’t use too much water or cleaning agents. The excess liquid could seep into the laminate flooring and cause it to swell; this could lead to irrevocable damage.

Tile Floors:

Grab a dry soft mop and wipe away all the dust and debris on your floor. Next, mix a 3:1 ratio solution of water and white vinegar, soak the wet mop in it and then begin cleaning your floors. You might have to repeat this process one or two times to get the best results.

Wood Floors:

Wooden floors tend to damage more than other floor variations between scratches, dents, and general wear. These are some tips I have used myself when it comes to restoring my wooden floors.

• Removing Surface Scratches:

Magic erasers: are one of the inexpensive solutions to problems like this.
Walnuts: The shell of the walnut helps with lessening scratches as well, rub the walnut gently across the scratch and it should buff right out.

• Removing Permanent Marker Stains:

Dab a little toothpaste. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wipe it clean.

• Removing Gum:

Grab an ice cube and rub it on the gum, once it freezes get a razor blade or other sharp tool and scrape it out carefully.

• Eliminate Dents:

Drop a bit water on the dent, then put a damp cloth on it. Iron for a couple of minutes over the damp cloth and the floor should return back to normal.

• Eliminate Creaky Floors:

Sprinkle baby powder on the floors and use a rag to get in the cracks. Wipe away any excess

Last but not the least, I owe everything I have ever learned, and everything my mother has ever learned to my grandmother.
Our grandmothers has been there since the day cellphones were the size of shoes, I would like to share with you some of the tips she has shared with me that has helped me along the way.

• Clean as you go
• Whiten your white fabrics naturally: Lemon juice! Pour some lemon on hot water and soak your white fabric in it for an hour, then rinse.
• Never underestimate the power of Baking Soda, Salt, and Vinegar
• Less is more: Literally. Instead of using unreasonable large sponges, cut them up and use them later. Don’t throw away old rags! Repurpose them, cut them up as well.
• Deodorize with Vanilla extract: Vanilla extract is the OG humidifier. Grab a small pot of water with a few drops of the syrup and bring it to a boil. Your home will smell like cookies.

There is no end to the amount of new innovative ideas on how to clean and organize your home naturally.

Together let’s go on the journey to a cleaner and healthier home. Till next time!
