I wrote this song a long time ago .. took a while to come to fruition in the recording studio, but once we sat down to do it, it played itself .. on the record, I’m especially impressed with the restraint of Promise of the Real , how well everyone complements each other.. special shout out to our old friend Jessie Seibenburg for the beautiful steel guitar on the studio version - this is how I wrote it originally, and brought it to the band.
