Woman awoke to find drunk stranger sitting in her living room... [HN VIDEO] HYANNIS – It's the Summer Drinking Season and many members of our local drinking community are out late wandering around enjoying the nicer weather, sometimes even having a difficult time finding the correct house to enter and have a seat.
This morning at about 2:00 a.m., police responded to an address on South Street Street when a woman had the scare of her life after awakening to find a drunk stranger sitting in her living room. She then went to a neighboring apartment and called the cops.
The drunken man in his late 50s met the first arriving officer outside of the apartment house. Aside from scaring the [bleep] out of the young woman, he wasn't causing a problem. He was simply drunk and lost.
In fact, the drunken man had a home of his very own nearby... and to be fair, his home was also the color white, just like the one he had mistakenly entered.
After sorting everything out by reuniting the scared woman with her now stranger-free living room, along with establishing that the man had no malicious intent, that it was an honest drunken mistake, especially since both houses were the same color, officers opted to take the man into protective custody for his own good, so he would be safe for the duration...
HN PRO TIP: During the Hyannis Summer Drinking Season, it's always a good idea to protect our local wandering drunks by double checking the locks on your doors before heading off to sleep for the evening.
