Empty Pollen Grains Could Absorb Drugs and Other Pollutants Researchers from the University of Hull in the UK are seeking new ways to use stripped-down pollen grains to remove contaminants from agricultural field runoff before they end up in the environment, plus a few other uses in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. These research findings were presented at the American Chemical Society’s Fall 2019 National Meeting and Exposition in San Diego.
