Negotiators from Japan and the United States on Thursday failed to reach an agreement on a two-way trade deal and decided to extend talks for another day. Thursday's talks followed a five-and-a-half-hour meeting on Wednesday. Analysts said the marathon meetings suggested that the negotiators were making a last-minute effort to reach an agreement before Japanese and U.S. leaders meet at the weekend G7 summit in France.
