Liverpool News: The Liverpool youngster who has impressed Klopp and coaching staff For Jurgen Klopp, it has been a welcome week working with a surprising amount of senior players.   But for a group of Liverpool's Academy hopefuls, the past few days have been a chance to impress the Reds' first-team coaching staff at Melwood.   And Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has revealed how one youngster in particular has caught the eye as he explained the drills the starlets have been put through alongside their more experienced colleagues during the international break.    Leighton Clarkson penned his first professional contract during the summer having helped the Reds win the FA Youth Cup last season.   The 17-year-old is a key figure in the midfield of Barry Lewtas' under-18 side, and Lijnders has shed light on the impact working alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane is already making on the teenager.  "You see so many incredible processes happening in the rest periods," said Lijnders. It’s the thing that makes all the difference."  Joel Matip, Adam Lallana, Xherdan Shaqiri and Adrian are among the other senior players to have been involved at Melwood during the international break.  And Lijnders has detailed the work those present have been doing.   "Two days of intense training," he said to liverpoolfc.com. "We have specific exercises like the ‘counter-pressing rondo’, the ‘identity game’, ‘organised chaos’ or the ‘high-intensity game’.  "They all experienced these specific exercises throughout these two days, it was like a little training camp for them.  "There is no better education than good role models, so for them to train with our seniors is irreplaceable.
