While this fresh Sony smartphone (launched at IFA 2019) sports a similar 21:9 CinemaWide design, the screen has shrunk to a 6.1-inch OLED panel and the resolution dropped to FHD+. All the same, you can expect crisp and colourful visuals, while the one-handed use is better than ever.
Once again you have a 3-lens camera with wide-angle and telephoto options, plus the excellent Cinema Pro mode for shooting incredible-looking video. Sony has improved the manual controls here on the Xperia 5 so you can capture even better-looking home movies than before.
Performance is solid thanks to the Snapdragon 855 platform, while the rest of the specs mostly remain the same as the Xperia 1. However, this new smartphone does shrink the battery size a little to fit that more compact frame.
