The Importance of Forgiveness and Reconciliation - Why & How To Forgive and Reconcile

The Importance of Forgiveness and Reconciliation - Why & How To Forgive and Reconcile The video discusses the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Why is forgiveness and reconciliation important?

• Unforgiveness distracts us and increases the likelihood of unhealthy behaviors.
• Forgiveness / Reconciliation removes the anchors and chains caused by unforgiveness.
• Unforgiveness stops us from enjoyment and improvement.
• No one is perfect. We should forgive because we also need forgiveness.
• We don’t forgive others because they deserve it. We do it because we deserve it.
• Forgiveness / Reconciliation gives us a greater sense of gratitude.

How to Forgive/Reconcile

1. Choose to
2. Be sincere and humble
3. Pray and ask for forgiveness / reconciliation
4. Let it go. (All we can do is our part. Focus on obedience and grace, everything else will take care of itself. God takes care of everything else.)

“This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God.” - Matthew 5:23-24
