US, China strike trade deal that could end long dispute

US, China strike trade deal that could end long dispute The United States and China have struck a partial trade deal that could end the 15-month-long trade war between the world's two largest economies.
President Donald Trump held talks with China's vice premier and suspended a tariff rise on $250bn of Chinese imports that was set to take effect on Tuesday.
It may take more than a month for a full deal to be written.
Jeffrey Wright, a US policy analyst at the Eurasia Group, told Al Jazeera that one of the reasons behind Trump's decision could be to get some relief for US farmers and boost the country's economy.
