Southern California Wildfire Forces Thousands to Evacuate A wildfire in the mountains north of Santa Barbara, California, forced more than 6,000 people from their homes, Tuesday, November 26.

The fire was a threat to an estimated 2,400 structures, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson said.

The fire started Monday afternoon in Los Padres National Forest with winds gusting up to 49 kilometers per hour. By Tuesday morning, it was estimated a t more than 16 square kilometers with no containment.

The U.S. National Weather Service said rain was expected to reach the area by midnight. (AP)
