The OSI Model: Your Device is Likely to Be Attacked

The OSI Model: Your Device is Likely to Be Attacked Every device has three layers. The physical layer, the transport layer and the application layer.

The physical layer refers to the actual physical connection between devices such as the ethernet or wifi.

The transport layer ensures messages are transmitted in the order of which sent and the data is transferred completely, the IP network.

The application layer serves as a window for users and applications to access the network, like the cloud or web browser.

Urgent/11 effects the middle layer, the transport layer, where the vulnerabilities subside. An attacker can gain access to the transport layer by intercepting the TCP connection via DNS spoofing and injecting TCP packets. Giving the attacker access to the IP address on the internal network and the ability to manipulate your devices.
