There are two different ways of hair transplantation: FUT (follicular unit transplant) and FUE (extraction of the follicular unit). The most effective method used in hair transplantation is FUE, as it is currently the most advanced technology in the field.
What is the FUE method?
The Follicular Unit Extraction or Follicular Transfer (FUE) method is the transplantation of hair follicles (grafts), bilateral post-auricular regions, and micro-motor parietal scalp one by one into the ballet or hair thinning areas.
What is the graft? How is it calculated?
A graft involves a hair follicle that is found in single, double or multiple follicles. These are all called grafts. After determining the number of grafts to be transplanted, this number is multiplied by 2.5 and thus the average number of hair to be transplanted is calculated.
Why the FUE method?
There are no remarkable scars after the FUE surgery
There is no postoperative pain
The patient can resume normal life more easily
Grafts can be collected and transplanted in any number using the FUE technique
As the structure of the donor site is not affected, 2 or 3 sessions can be made.
There is no need for hospitalization in the postoperative course, so that the FUE operation is more preferable
How long does hair transplant last?
The duration of hair transplantation depends on the size of the transplant area; it will take about 4-8 hours if done by an expert team. After the transplant itself, the patient follows the follow-up procedure for two more days, after which he is discharged.
How many sessions are needed to get results?
In general, a single session is sufficient for hair transplantation, but depending on the quality of the hair in the donor area, the number of sessions for the implantation area will be determined. If a session was not enough, it is possible to implant six months after the first operation.
When Does Transplanted Hair Grow?
Transplanted hair follicles start to grow new hair at the end of the third month; 60% of the hair follicles are active on the 6th month, 70% on the 7th month and 100% at the end of the 12th month.
Is there the risk that the transplanted hair is falling?
No, it will not fall because transplanted hair does not have any predisposing gene.
