Corbyn says Johnson 'must live up to his promises' - BBC News

Corbyn says Johnson 'must live up to his promises' - BBC News Jeremy Corbyn follows the PM's lead in starting out by paying tribute to the victims of the London Bridge attack, which happened during the election campaign.

The Labour leader says the knife attack was "an attempt to damage our democracy... it didn't succeed and it never should succeed".

Mr Corbyn offers his congratulations to the PM for winning the election, and also "pays tribute" to many of his own MPs who lost their seats - giving special mention to former Bolsover MP and Parliamentary heavyweight, Dennis Skinner.

Sounding somewhat tired and downcast, Mr Corbyn tells Boris Johnson: “The prime minister made many, many promises and he must take responsibility to live up to them.

"He will be judged on whether he keeps these promises by the communities he made them to.”
