It had been quite a while that we had reviewed Samsung’s mid-range devices. So, here we are with the Samsung Galaxy A50s review! The Galaxy A50s is the successor to the Galaxy A50 launched some six months ago.

Before getting into it, let’s get familiar with the Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in different countries:

Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in Nepal: NPR 35,199
Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in India: INR 19,999 (4GB+128GB) and INR 22,000 (6GB+128GB)
Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in Bangladesh: BDT 28,599
Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in Pakistan: ‎PKR 56,999

Okay, now that we are familiar with the prices, let’s get into the specifications and review of the Galaxy A50s. The A50s was launched in a relatively higher price before but recently, it has undergone a price cut after which the phone seems like a worthy choice in that price segment.

The Samsung Galaxy A50s has 6.4- inches Super AMOLED screen and as it is with Samsung displays, this one has very good colors and contrast levels. The brightness too is sufficient outdoors, so there is very less to worry about in the display department. In fact, it is the best display you can get that price segment. And it is the best thing about the phone too.

Design -wise, it has seen very incremental upgrades from the A50s. The only difference we could make out is the patterns at the back. Other than that, the phone is very identical to is its predecessor. The thing that has impressed us about the design of the phone is the fact that it is very slim, slimmer than other phones similarly priced. Samsung’s craftsmanship needs a lot of applause here. The back is made of plastic, which makes it very susceptible to scratches. Other than that, the design is very good to say at the least.

Talking about the performance, the Samsung Galaxy A50s features Exynos 9611 chipset which is basically the same as the Exynos 9610 featured on the older A50. The only difference is that the 9611 is a little more energy- efficient than the 9610. Having said that, normal performance is very good. Even playing games like PUBG is good in HD settings with High frame rates. However, if you compare the 9611 with the Helio G90T of Redmi Note 8 pro and Snapdragon 712 on the Realme XT, the performance levels do not match as the latter two do better.

Camera-wise, you get a triple camera setup at the back of the A50s. There is a 48MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor. And the camera performance is just commendable. Okay, detail-wise, it might not match the 64MP cameras of the Realme XT or the Redmi Note 8 pro, but quality-wise, it certainly wins over the other two by a good margin. Ultra-wide-angle images also have similar quality. The colors and saturation levels are good. Portrait images don’t have the best edge- detection, but other aspects of it look very pleasing. The background blur is good and subject focus is commendable too.

Battery- wise, you have a good sized 4,000 mAh unit inside of the Galaxy A50s. The battery life is s you can expect from it. It will last for an entire day on moderate usage. But one complaint with it is that you get a 15- watt charger inside, which is less than what others are providing the same price range. We had hoped for a faster charging tech here but sadly that’s not the case.

On the overall, we think that after the recent price drop of the Galaxy A50s, it has become a good contender in its price range. It has the best display in its price, one of the best cameras, average performance and good enough battery-life. However, we think Samsung needs to optimize OneUI in budget and mid-range phones, because it’s somewhat sluggish than on high end Samsung phones!
