Whistler Peak opened today! However due to the snow and weather conditions the only way up is to hike from the top of the gondola (approx. 1,5hrs if your getting over a cold like I am).

Going was tough, the higher we got the winds started picking up and the visibility started dropping. It also started snowing, but I have nothing bad to say for that cause we need it bad. Considering the conditions we decided to be practical on our descent and take a simpler route that we are very familiar with, down Whistler Bowl going skiers right, and then down Shale Slope to the bottom of the Peak Chair and ride out.

Things to remember when hiking in these conditions:
- layers (bring some under layers to adjust when hiking up
- bring a spare goggle lens or spare goggles, I was getting a lot of condensation on my goggles causing them to fog up, when the visibility is already so low, it basically dropped to zero for me
- bring board tool, I had to tighten my bindings at the peak of the mountain
- always assess the conditions and circumstances/ play it safe ad make sure you get to the bottom as safely as you can
