This talk looks at the actions that we can take to contribute to and build a Human-Centred Data. Looking at the hope and fear around big data and sensors in sanitation, agriculture and urban centres I will argue that Open-Source Data that is designed for ease-of-use by end users can enable a prosperous and fair societies. This will look at how inter-connectivity can contribute to a sharing economy and how low cost sensors in toilets, water pipes and the air could detect disease outbreaks early without the need for invasive tests. Taking inspiration from organisations such as MapKibera and Wikipedia I make a case for how we can reclaim control of our data and make it opensource and accessible to enable a more fair world.
