I finally replaced the passenger side fiber glass fender on my 240z, and now I can finally finish the cut and buff. I wanted to go over some do's and don'ts of buffing. You may be scared of buffing because of the possibility of burning thru. If the clear coat is atleast a couple of days dry it is easier to buff. If the clear coat is a day old, you may want to wait or start on a spot not so visible. Fresh clear coat can blemish easier if you're not careful. Make sure to soak and clean your pad every time you apply it to a surface. Bucket of water helps. Work in small areas to avoid drying out and burning thru.Rember the benifits of a small base mount, is that it save edges. You never fully apply pressure to an edge because no back plate, thus less likely of burning it. It can be a bit messier but it's worth it to avoid damaging edges on the finish. Thanks for watching.
