Command & Conquer: Red Alert is a 1996 real-time strategy game and the second main entry in the Command & Conquer franchise. It was developed by Westwood Studios and released by Virgin Interactive Entertainment.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert is the prequel to the original Command & Conquer and takes place in the alternative timeline in which the USSR under Joseph Stalin attempts to conquer all of Europe.

In October 2019, a beta version of the game, version 0.09c, was made public by members of the Command & Conquer community. The beta, which contains both the Windows and MS-DOS versions of the game, differs from the release version in many regards.

Certain campaign maps are different, some units have different statistics, many bugs are present, the number of skirmish maps is greatly reduced, and cutscenes not found in the final game are included.
