WHAT IS THE LEGITIMATE ENDS OF THE MARITAL RELATIONSHIP

WHAT IS THE LEGITIMATE ENDS OF THE MARITAL RELATIONSHIP This video attempts to answer the question, "What is the legitimate ends of the marital relationship." The answer to this question is crucial due to the ramifications this answer has in Texas Family Courts.

According to section 6.001 of the Texas Family Code, a court may grant a divorce without regard to fault if the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate ends of the marital relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

So what exactly is "legitimate ends of the marital relationship"? I attempt to answer this question by discussing it in light seeking to understand the legitimate purpose of Christmas.

Should the legitimate ends of the marital relationship strictly be something secular or cultural, or are there religious commitments entailed in marriage? If the former, the state can justify its "divorce-on-demand" practices. If the latter, the state of Texas has a DUTY TO PROTECT the covenantal nature of marriage. To not do so is to violate its DUTY TO PROTECT the religious liberties of the citizens of the state.

Texas Constitution, Article 1, Section, 6.
FREEDOM OF WORSHIP. All men have a natural and indefeasible
right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences. No man shall be compelled to attend, erect or support any place of worship, or to maintain any ministry against his consent. No human authority ought, in any case whatever, to control or interfere with the rights of conscience in matters of religion, and no preference shall ever be given by law to any religious society or mode of worship. But it shall be the duty of the Legislature to pass such laws as may be necessary to protect equally every religious denomination on in the peaceable enjoyment of its own mode of public worship.
