In this Light Circle we continue asking Jesus—a symbol of the Light within—to help reveal desires below our level of awareness so they can be cleared in the Light of Truth. If Jesus reveals that we do have a desire to deny the Light below our awareness, we admit the desire and ask for a miracle, a change in perception. In this session we ask Jesus to reveal desires below our level of awareness for an experience of running from Jesus to deny being the Light and the desire for an experience that life apart from Heaven is possible. We look at desiring an experience of death, to experience that death is salvation--an experience of deserving death for denying the Father. We ask to be shown if there is a desire to say no to Him, to our brother and to the Love that is here. Jesus is inviting us to take our true position as Infinite unchanging Light.
We ask to be shown by Jesus if there is a perception that these desired experiences are being used as an attempt to prove separation is true and as a means to salvation, and if so, ask for a miracle to change this perception.
After each desire is revealed we ask Jesus if there is more to see. If more time is needed to clear desires from Chapter 20, it is helpful to set aside time in contemplation with Jesus to hear his guidance for clearing through miracles. In Jesus: A New Covenant ACIM, Jesus points to the power of direct experience of the Light within to clear denials of Divinity. He shares that all the beliefs that are denials of Divinity are given in A Course in Miracles, and translates these beliefs in ANC to denials so that we can look directly with him. In Light Circles we focus on the Light first, and in this Light beliefs and desires that seem to deny awareness of unconditional Love, our true nature, are quickly cleared. And if asked, Jesus will reveal the subconscious denials.
